*On May 23, 2009, a headstone was dedicated for
Michael Painter, who had an unmarked grave.
A government issue headstone was erected on October 29, 2009 -
92 years after the date of Michael Painter's burial.

In February 2007, Becky Soules was generously assisted by Harold Slavik and Dave Burkett of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, in a survey of the cemetery to identify all possible Civil War Veterans (Union & Confederate).

Once their service was confirmed, their names were added to the SUVCW National Graves Registration Project by Harold Slavik, currently Commander of Corporal Louis Renniger Camp No. 1, Springfield.

Corporal Louis Renniger Camp No. 1

"The SUVCW National Graves Registration Project was established in 1996. Since then, hundreds of dedicated people from within and without our Order have graciously devoted thousands of hours of their time and energy visiting cemeteries, recording, verifying, researching and entering the final resting places of Civil War veterans."
